Preparing for Your Appointment: Ensuring Your Glamorous Results
At Glam Iconic Beauty, we’re dedicated to delivering stunning results that leave you feeling confident and radiant. To achieve this, we need to work together to ensure your skin is primed and ready for your appointment. Just as an artist needs a pristine canvas to begin their masterpiece, our Glam Iconic Artists require certain preparations from you. Here’s everything you need to know:
Pre- Appointment Guidelines:
- Chemical Peels: Avoid getting a chemical peel for at least 28 days prior to your appointment. This allows your skin to heal properly and ensures optimal results.
- Botox Treatments: Refrain from getting a Botox treatment within 7 days of your appointment. This ensures that your facial muscles are relaxed and allows for precise microblading application.
- Sun Exposure: Steer clear of tanning beds and excessive sun exposure to prevent sunburns or skin damage. Protect your skin with sunscreen and cover-ups if necessary.
- Hair Removal: Do not pluck, wax, tint, thread, or use any hair removal methods on your eyebrows prior to your appointment. This ensures that your brow area is free from irritation or sensitivity.
- Skincare Products: Avoid using Retinols/Retin-A or any other anti-aging/acne creams on your brow area. These products can thin the skin and affect the microblading process.
- Serums with Acids: Refrain from applying any serums containing acids on your eyebrows 48 hours before your appointment. Acidic serums can cause irritation and compromise the microblading results.
- Medications and Supplements: Avoid taking aspirin, ibuprofen, niacin, vitamin E, fish oil (omega-3), or CoQ10 within 24 hours of your appointment. These substances can thin the blood and increase the risk of bleeding during the procedure.
- Alcohol and Caffeine: Limit your consumption of alcohol and caffeine 12 hours before your appointment. These substances can affect skin sensitivity and may interfere with the microblading process.
THE HEALING PROCESS
Taking care of your new brows after treatment is extremely important to how your eyebrows will look after they are fully healed and the longevity of your eyebrows.
Our Glam Iconic Artists created a masterpiece fused with your own natural beauty, as they were trained to do, but taking care of it afterward is your responsibility so we highly recommend following these aftercare instructions methodically:
Day 1
Keep clean and dry, do not touch your eyebrows! They may feel tender and appear a little red.
Day 1-3
Brows will start developing a thin layer of scab, continue keeping your brows dry and clean.
Day 4
Apply a rice grain amount of aftercare ointment on each eyebrow with a cotton swab and clean hands, spread a VERY THIN layer of the ointment across the treated area every morning and night.
Brows should not appear greasy, glossy or shiny, if so you used too much, as this can suffocate the skin and delay healing. Never apply ointment on a wet or damp tattoo. Continue ointment until your brows are no longer scabbing.
Day 14+
Brows are safe from water. The client may return to normal skincare routines.
Brows will appear very light, after scabs come off, every week up to 6 weeks color will continue to surface and brows will get darker again.
Day 28-42
Your brows are healed and you’re feeling unstoppable!!!
MAINTAINING YOUR BROWS
A new set of Microbladed eyebrows takes two appointments to complete and for that reason your 6-8 weeks touchup appointment is complimentary. After the complimentary appointment, we recommend a touchup after 2 years to maintain the crispness and freshness of your brows. However, we do offer different touchup schedules because everyone experiences the fading process differently and may need to get a touchup sooner than one year.
